Greetings! I have a few questions and hopefully someone can answer them. Keep in mind I don't own a Mac myself, so I can't just go and check to see if it works until tomorrow.

Movie:
1) How can I get a clip from muting itself after being dragged into the timeline? When I play it from the clip panel, it has it's sound. Yet it's when I drag it to the timeline, the sound it once had is now gone! Anyone know how to solve this puzzle? Just so you know I imported from a VHS recorder that has a small RGB monitor on top, that was hooked up to a Dazzle box. I heard the sound play on the Mac while importing the footage and this has never happened when I imported from my DVcam.

iDVD:

2) Is there a way for an Apple brand DVD-R, to play on a PC? I've tried this before and it doesn't work, be it a burned iDVD or a Data DVD. Now I also have a pack of recently brought Imation DVD-Rs. Would these disks offer cross-platform abilities right off the bat, or are there special settings within iDVD or Jaguar in general to make cross-platform compatible DVDs possible?

And some important facts:
-it's the college's Mac, so I can't access the Control Panel unless I have one of the IT Nazis unlock it.
-Since the afore mentioned IT Nazis haven't gotten the latest iLife software, iMovie is iMovie 3 and iDVD is stuck at iDVD 2. So I can't simply import my iMovie into iDVD until they DO update the whole iLife package (which is more then likely never).

I'd appreciate it very much. My father is doing a website and needs some video I shot to put on the site. And since there's nothing on the PC world that can touch iMovie and iDVD, that's what I'm using. Thanks in advance!

About the iMovie problem, you might have the edit sound checked on and then the volume turned all the way down. That could be the problem

You should be able to use any DVD-R with iDVD, I have used Imation, Fuji, TDK, and Sony as well as the Apple brand with no problems on any DVD player or PC (my dad has a Sony Vaio laptop).

Good luck

Alright I'll try it. Unfortunately since they are getting ready for the Spring semester, all my video was deleted!!! Now I have to do it all over again! :'(

And I guess the issue with Apple burned DVDs only affects my home PC, it plays fine on my father's laptop, which ironically is also a Sony Vaio as well!

I'll let you know how things turn out. Thanks again! ^_^
