Hello !
I would like to know if anyone out there knows of a software app that can manipulate adobe acrobat docs created on a MAC that need to be edited in an xp machine???

Yep, you'll need Acrobat 6.0 Standard (you can download a trial version):

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatstd/main.html

It's not just between a Mac and Windows; since a PDF is platform independent, you'd need Acrobat 6 on the Mac, too, to edit it.
