I am trying to convert some of our old vhs tapes to dvd. The issue is that the vcr is on my pc and the dvd recordable drive is in my mac laptop. I have tried recording one of the tapes to both avi and mpeg but i final cut express rejects the mpeg and doesn't show any video for the avi (codec?). I know imovie and final cut prefer dv so using ati's mmc is there a way to record to dv or something that imovie/final cut will be more happy working with?
