So, I've been using my PowerBook to do some video editing and creation at work with iMovie. Now my hard drive is filling up, so I thought I would move some of the older projects to a PC with a 150GB hard drive via the network. To make sure it would work I copied an entire project to the PC, then back. Once I did that iMovie no longer recognized the project file and the clips could not be imported into a new project. So what do I need to do to get this to work?

I suppose you could start by enabling Windows Sharing in the Sharing preference pane on your Mac - that would allow your Windows machine to connect to the Mac over the network.

You don't understand. I know how to actually share the files. I've setup many networks before. My problem is, once I move it back from the PC to the Mac the project is no longer usable. iMovie can't open the project file after that. Something happened to the file when I moved it to the PC. I want to know how to get around this problem.

Try compressing the Movie file with stuffit or something first then drag it over your network to the PC. That way it preserves the original iMovie files. When you need it just bring it back uncompress it and it should just work. Hope that helps
