depends on your connection speed, and the bit rate of the stream you are playing. As well the stream could be crappy, or random internet traffic causing the buffering.
If you have a fast connection, increasing the buffer size in advanced in prefs will not really help. Try other streams, see if you have the same issue. Any broadband should really easily be able to handle the 128k streams.
I have a 1.5Mb BB connection and I get buffering on some "stations" more than others, some none at all.
In other words, there's nothing you can do, nothing I said is really all that helpful, it's a crap shoot, good luck.
BTW - fisherking is a good movie!
