I have wasted 2 DVDs also as I tried to burn my movies from iDVD.
It stopped in Stage 2 and shows "time remaining 111 minutes".. sigh...

Has anyone encounterd the SAME problem?
Please help me, I need to burn my movies urgently.

My machine = iMac G4, 17", Panther.
blank DVD = 4.7GB DVD-R
My movie size = 3GB

I had the same problem. iDVD would show a message similar to what you said but the DVD-R showed up on my desktop as mounted. I ejected the DVD-R and, for what it's worth, the DVD did play fine in all of my DVD players (an Apex AD-1500 and my PS2).

You're right; this is very annoying. I just hope that Apple fixed this in iDVD 4.

By the way, I have the exact same system as you have. I don't know what G4 you have but mine is the 800 MHz model.

Did you wait 111 minutes? Burning a movie in iDVD can take a great deal of time. It took me a hour to burn a 20 minute movie and the count-down clock stayed at 40 minutes remaining almost the whole time.

Yes i did.
I set the "disc burn" and I left to my office to work.
And when I came back. It is still hung up at 111 minutes... It took about 6 hours...

Sigh... everyone has the same problem.
