I am wondering when iLife 04 will start shipping with new macs? Looking at the product pages in the online store, I haven't seen any reference to iLife 04 so far...

Wow So, when ordered today, the iLife suite comes with every new mac, although there is no mentioning of it anywhere on the apple store homepage (at least I didn't see any when looking for an eMac), and I do not have to do the 19,95 up-to-date stuff to get my hands on a copy?

I think if you'd call the Apple Store you might get a more definite answer than by asking here.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Naturally, I'd have done so. But over here in Europe the Apple Store (by Phone) is closed over the weekend and I was interested in maybe ordering a mac on Saturday

I called them today and they confirmed that iLife is indeed included with every mac bought from them now!

Going to a US retail Apple Store, iLife will be inside every Mac sold. May not be preloaded, but you'll have the installer cd/dvd inside.

I ordered a Powerbook after ILife 2004 began shipping and iLife 2004 was neither pre-installed or packed with my computer.

Apparantly, I will need to spend an additional $19.95 to participate in the "iLife Up-to-date" program.

Walking into my local Apple Store, I was told the same thing - I can walk out of the store with a computer, but not one with iLife 2004 installed or bundled....I would have to spend an additional $19.95 to get it.

This is just weak at best. I just spent almost $3000 and need to spend more to get something that should have been included in the first place and which contains 2 pieces of software that was free until 14 days ago.

Apple is more and more like M$ everyday.

Any computer that is assembled and boxed after the 16th will have iLife 4 installed. Of course, there are quite a few computers (most, actually) still in the retail channel that were assembled before the 16th.

I couldn't care less when my computer was packaged....I should not have to pay for iLife 2004 when it is suppsoed to ship with all new computers.
