The rest of us are curious - is it worth your $49?

Please vote honestly - if you didn't buy it, don't vote just to say that you would.

I don't have it as yet, but would be willing to pay the price just for GarageBand...

I think it was definitely worth the money, though it certainly isn't all it could be on my system.

I already had iTunes, I don't use iMovie (I'm an FCP man), and my machine isn't fast enough to use iDVD, nor do I have a Superdrive.

However, iPhoto 4 kicks ass, and GarageBand is a great little piece of software even though it has it's limitations. Definitely glad I spent the money, if only for these two apps.

i do not see myself using garageband all that much, the others i will be using.

i paid the up-to-date price of $19, but i still would have paid $49 if i did not qualify.

iphoto is worth $49 alone. one of my most used programs.

it's certainly not the worst $29 i've spent in my life (edu price). many a dinner has been less satisfying than a faster iPhoto + GarageBand. perhaps i'll get into movies at some later time, and then iMovie and iDVD will increase the perceived worth even more...

overall verdict:

I had iLife already. Paid $50 for the new rev as I wanted Garage Band. It's worth it as teh other apps are essential to me..but I am a little dissapointed in Garage Band so far.

At any rate, this $50 package beats anything in the windows world. If only I had more capacity on my 1GHz PB, I would not be using my iPod / iTunes on my Dell!!!

The speed improvements in iPhoto is alone worth the price. Heck, Adobe charges $49 for Adobe Photo Album for the PC, and this is easily as good. I've got over 3GB of pictures in iPhoto, and the new version is speedy and has nice features.

iDVD is worth $50 easily, and each version gets better and better.

GarageBand could be sold for $99 easily.

All in all, a great value.

And, it was even better for me - was only $29 with the educational discount!

Definitely worth the money I spent. iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD and Garageband are worth the price of admission.

I'm impressed and disappointed at the same time. I was really impressed with the improved performance of iPhoto. I just got a digital camera a couple weeks ago so I've been using iPhoto quite a bit lately. The speed difference is almost palpable. When I dropped down a film roll in iPhoto 4 I turned to read something expecting the dropdown to be sluggish. I was surprised when I saw the thumbnails come up out of the corner of my eye.

I'm disappointed that iTunes had no update beyond what was up for download. I'd hoped when iLife was announced that maybe there would end up being an updated version of iTunes. I'm also still wondering why iPhoto doesn't have an option to turn off viewing your photo library when it starts. I don't necessarily want to view my entire library when I start iPhoto. Even keeping the view set to film rolls and collapsing them takes time to load when it starts.
