Whenever I attempt to print ANY file in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Entourage, my printer does not show up in the drop-down in the print dialog. No problem with the other programs; my C84 is recognized.

For now I've been previewing the Word files and printing from Preview, but this is ridiculous.

See AlPB specs...running 10.3.2.

Same thing started happening to me right after I installed the Epson C84 drivers. I have no idea how to fix it. Word seems to be the only thing affected. All the other Office programs work fine. Any suggestions?

Now I really feel bad. I posted the fix in the other thread last night and it worked fine for me until I rebooted. Now, when I trash the Pref file, it still shows no printers available. Sorry for the confusion. Again, if anyone has anything that they think works to fix this, please post it here and ignore the psuedo-solution I posted in the other thread.

After reinstalling Panther over a week ago the printer *DID* show up once in Word, but that was VERY short-lived. I have never been able to get my C84 to show up in MS Office. It always tells me "No printer selected," when the other apps (and even in System Prefs) my C84 shows up just fine.

My workaround for the time being has been to preview the printout as a PDF and print it directly from Preview.app.

I have fixed the problem on my machine and here's what I did:

Installed Gimp-Print and removed all non-gimp installed printers from Printer Setup Utility.

Removed ~Library/Preferences/EPSONC84.ini

That should do it.

Additionally, I removed Arial, Arial Black, Comic Sans MS, Monotype Sorts, Times New Roman, Verdana, and Wingdings from ~Library/Fonts and they were replaced by updated versions from the sysyem on the next login. I have no idea if this was related to the printing problem, but I did it and printing works from Word now. YYMV.

Post again if it works for you to confirm that this fix is valid
