Hi Guys,

Am I the only one that notices that Preview takes ages to open postscript files (convert them to pdf)... is there anything faster out there at doing this? Its a big much when it takes a dual 2GHz G5 ages to convert a small 8 page ps document!

Acrobat Distiller is the usual choice for this job. Not cheap though.

I don't have any real experience with it, but there is the GhostScript ps2pdf tool if all you are trying to do is to make a pdf. There are free, GPL, and commercial licenses available.

thanks a lot for the links guys. That ps2pdf looks interesting, its free too! i might play around with it and see how I get on.
Adobe distiller... i don't think i would spend the money on it, since its only the odd occasion that i have to convert ps files to pdf. All the same, could you tell me out of interest whether distiller that comes with the latest adobe acrobat is any faster than preview in panther. Ive been told not to waste money on adobe acrobat because preview is faster at rendering and creating pdf's ?!?! What about post script conversion though!
