I was just wondering what the future for the Software Garage Band would be. Could it be that as soon as this software catches on there will be an update in which users will be able to upload their newly created works of art to the iTunes Music Store for the world to hear and buy? Could this be the answer to selling more indie lable tunes? Sort of like Mp3.com?

Apple has stated that they review all of the material before putting it on the iTunes Music Store. So, no, I don't think there will be an automated, instant posting sort of submission process where that 12 year old next door who plays horrible, horrible saxophone can use Apple's servers to show off his masterpieces.

The software seems like such a cool way to get people making music, much in the same way iPhoto and .Mac service and sharing photos... maybe there will be a service in that same respect where artists will be able to sell music via iTunes. I mean how cool would it be if you could sell your work along side some giant names. There would be a way to screen or vote on tunes to see what should be posted. MP3.com was kind of chaos in that sense where there was so much crap but at least that was a huge outlet for independent artists to sell their work. Maybe Apple will buy out CDBaby or some crazy thing like that.
Kind of a great way to sell more of their software. And it ties in the whole creative - sharing thing Apple is great at doing. I mean distribution is already in place for many artists (ie. iPod, iTunes music store) How perfect it be for underground music to spread.

Well there is a music folder in my .mac account, and i could set up a paypal account to charge for it so It'd be very easy to share my music with people, I doubt Apple would incorporate it into iTMS though.

It will never happen on iTMS. Pro's will use iTMS to sell their music but you and I will have to hope that maybe there is a GB feature added to .mac or something.
While GB is usefull and fun I can't think of too many people that will pay you for loops they have access to themselves. Think of GB as a harbinger of a good will and the free trade of nifty homemade tunes. But always keep in mind that the Pro's use hardware that cost more than your computer just to do something like EQ or Compression.

I can imagine a special section in the iTMS, where private music is sold. This would be completely seperated from the "commercial" store. That would be great. Everyone couls have a platform for their music. True garage bands would have an ideal way of getting their music sold without a record company.

This would never happen. At the very least someone would have to review the music for copyright infringement (hey, doesn't that song sound like . . .).
I know everyone thinks that the music today is such crap that every 12 year old with a Mac can do better, and some can, but for the most part there is a noticeable difference between professional tracks and what the average person can create.
That being said, I agree with the poster that it is all but certain something will be added to .Mac to facilitate sharing (assuming it doesn't assume the same risk of copyright infringement).
