I like using iChat but i really dislike using Yahoo IM and lately using Fire for Yahoo hasn't been great...it would be great if iChat could connect to yahoo's servers...no?

I love using iChat... And yeah I guess I agree with you, it would be cool if iChat could connect to other IM services, but for me it doesn't really matter because I don't use any others anyway...

What I wish is that my iChat would open... *sigh* it just refuses to open - I even reinstalled panther and it still doesn't work :'(
I've been so many places, I've seen so many faces, and these blue, green, and purple HILLS

Try making a new user, see if it opens then. When you reinstalled did you erase the hard disk first? You might need to do that. Backup first of course.

I would love using iChat, however I have to find my first friend using it... European users are tied to MSN or a client that connects to it, no matter what

Check out the alpha of adium 2 (adium.sourceforge.net , don't get 1.6). It's still under development, but quite nice, and starting to get support for a lot of different protocols.

I use Proteus btw, Adium is nice, but still somewhat buggy.
