I've been trying to get mlmac working well, and having a few major problems. It seems to just lock up the machine and all your hear is the hard drive grinding away, but you can't access any software.

I tried using xdonkey, which seems well set up, connects to servers, but nothing downloads and there are far fewer search results.

What software are you using for edonkey and bittorrent, and what works for you.

Thanks for your opinions.

J.

I'm using the standard BitTorrent client, and MLDonkey. MLDonkey (which is also used by mlMac, I think) has a memory leak, so that may be why you're having problems with it.

Thanks, it looks like the memory leak in mldonkey is exactly what I'm seeing, certainly sounds like it.

I ran the bittorrent client last night and this morning came down t 3Gb of downloads waiting for me. Fabulous, great piece of software, think I'll stick to that for BT downloads.

Unfortunately, I still need a donkey client, as I'm trying to download some old tv programs that only seem to be on the donkey. Hopefully someone will fix the memory leak.

Is there any other donkey daemon that works? I don't really need the graphical front end, I'm just as happy with a web control interface for it, and seem to get better search results from the web interface than the gui. Strange.

Cheers,

J.
