Contribute 2 will not install

Can anyone help me with this?
I had to rebuild my iMac after a hard disc problem and I now want to reinstall Contribute 2 from Macromedia.
The only problem is the install keeps failing.
I get to the point where I enter the Admin password which I know is correct and then it says it is Authenticating the Installer. But then it stops and returns to the main install screen having done absolutely nothing.
I have even tried to install it on my PowerBook but I have the same problem.
I have downloaded the software 3 times to make sure it is OK. I have checked the support forums on the Macromedia site and check the things they suggest, but still no joy.
Can anyone help ?

So you have an uninstalled copy that you paid for as well !!! or did you just get the trial version?

Trial version only. Just gave up in the end -- couldn't see any way of getting out of the loop...
