I'm really hoping someone can help me...
I have spent a total of 30 hours editing an hour long project in iMovie 3.03.

Today after adding in Chapter Markers I went to work on it in iDVD and it told me to render the slow and fast motion clips, so I did.

Now, after about the 15 minute mark where I had some sped up and slowed down footage, the rest of the audio for the whole project is out by about 5 seconds.

I'm not just talking about the audio that I added, I'm talking about the video audio itself! I also noticed that the cut indicators and preview screens in the timeline editor no longer match up with the footage that plays back.

I tried restarting but it's the same and I'm freaking out because I worked so hard on this project.

Why would everything go all screwed up like that??

Is there a way to get iMovie to rescan it's Clip files or something and ressync the audio and previews etc?

I should add that the original import from the camera had perfect audio sync. So in my case the sync issue doesn't involve a camera, or importing...

Any thoughts or advice are very appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Scott

You're not going to like this, but it WILL work....Select all of the clips in the timeline in iMovie, and Extract Audio from all of the clips.

Now, when you play back the movie, or export it to iDVD, or even export it out to tape, the sound will be in sync with the movie. Why? Who knows? This has been a problem with iMovie since 3.0, and was supposed to be fixed in 3.1, but I have experienced this problem myself.

Good luck.
