The simplest way to enable these options is to do a 'show package contents' on the Calculator app. in Contents/Resources there are 3 folders called ExpressionSheet.calcview, Graphing-2D.calcview and Hexadecimal.calcview (what are all those 'tape button' tiff's for, one looks like the bookmarks button in safari? Anyway) do a Finder copy on these three, navigate back up to Contents/ and open the PlugIns folder and paste the items in there. These new items will now appear under the 'View' Menu item when Calculator is running.
to disable them do a get info on the Calculator app and there is a Plugins section, uncheck the tick boxes for the ones you want to disable.

Wow, cool! I hope they finish the graphic feature soon. I miss the old OS 9 Graphing Calculator.

No, the people who sit and fumble through every system/application package to find such goodies...

Is it Mail.app or Address Book? Or both?

It'd probably take less time to do that then scour the various MacNN forum threads and post in them.

Even when that thread was posted, it was already old news. The macosxhints.com article pointed to is dated Nov 7.
Oh, and you could have found that thread much more easily if you had searched for "graphing calculator" instead of just "calculator." Or even better yet, "Panther graphic calculator" would have turned it right up.

If you dont know the thing exists, how are you supposed to search for it? Thank you for posting this. I didnt know it existed. Man I really yearn for the "good old days" on arpanet when everyones main concern was helping each other rather than finding fault.

Agreed. I look at these forums pretty much every day but clearly missed the myriad other opportunities to find out about this cool little feature! And I don't see the point in declaring it old news after people have already said like: wow, cool! about it, and I agree.
Interesting also that the development of those plugins - looking at the hex-type calculator especially - was obviously discontinued before they decided to change the Panther calculator buttons from pretty aqua to ugly whatever it is they are now!

Doh! I thought that was some shareware program or something.
Anyways, it was news to me.

Cool and news to me too. As you can see by my post count and registered date I'm not new but still managed to miss it the first time so who cares if it's been mentioned before.
Just the other day I was trying to enter hex in calculator and was surprised that the advanced view didn't allow it. Well now I can!
