This is drom the Terms of Conditions of the .Mac Keynote deal:

--- 8< ---
Customer must be a current .Mac account holder and purchase Keynote (M8820Z/A), from January 21, 2004 through March 17, 2004, or while supplies last.
--- >8 ---

Could it be?

It would be cool. Keynote is a great app. Would go good with Apple Office.

I don't believe in an Apple Office other than a better AppleWorks. And that would be without Keynote.
But: Have we seen something we cannot do with Keynote 1.x at some of Steve's latest speeches? That could be a hint.

well...that "supplies last" comment and the date definitely makes me think the current Keynote is EOLed. they make the darn thing. supplies will never run out as long as they are publishing it.
Keynote 2 is probably coming then...or part of a new office suite.
i really have to question a new iOffice, AppleWorks, or Apple Office kind of suite. it would really cheese off M$. despite what most people think...and i really hate this fact..but Apple needs M$. if M$ Office was not available for the Mac then it would seriously hurt trying to bring people to and even keep existing mac customers. the only way is if their office suite was 100% compatible with M$ Office. that is near about impossible seeing as how M$ can't (or refuses) to make subsequent versions of Office 100% compatible with each other.

"While supplies last" is usually just typical corporate legalese saying that they're not responsible if they do run out. I wouldn't put much ocnfidence in it, it's so commonplace. I mean, we see this same thing on soda cans with contest info on them, and I see these cans hanging around well after the contest is over.

I think we'll get Keynote 2 by late summer.

At this point, can Microsoft really kill Office for the Mac and not raise red flags at the justice dept? If it is at all profitable, and I believe it is, then they'd be hard pressed for a business case to cancel the project.

Not that I'm recommending pissing off Microsoft. That kind of stuff can get ugly.

i have to admit though...Office 2004 for the Mac looks sweet. much better than its PC counterpart that is for sure. Maybe Apple should just see if they can aquire the MacBU from M$
