Out of my collection of purchased AAC files, I have two which consistently cause iTunes to quit. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I contacted Apple about this as it involves music I purchased from the Music Store, but they told me that I would have to pay $49 for tech support or get Applecare.

Here is the crash report:

I did submit this to Apple (I really like the fact that OS X now generates a crash report when something goes awry). I also checked the Apple support forums but didn't find any topics related to this issue. If anyone has any ideas for correcting this and would like to share, it would be great.

Hi,
I have no solution for your problem although I seem to suffer from the same awkward behaviour: iTunes crashing when trying to play some AAC files. Mine are not from the ITMS (none yet in europe) but they're AACs I ripped myself. Not only iTunes chokes on them, also the Finder quits when trying to play in preview, as does Quicktime player. They also crash VLC and Mplayer (do they use quicktime for playback?).
The only solution for me has been to re-rip the AACs, sometimes an entire CD.
This has happened to me so often since switching to AAC that I've considered going back to MP3 on numerous occasions.
Mm.

contact iTunes Music Store help, this has happened to me many times. The song plays fine except for a little bit of a horrible noise in the song on my iPod. In iTunes, where that horrible noise should be is where iTunes crashes.

they should give you a new download of the song, so you would own two, but the second better one is fixed. I have had to do this thrice probably. It sort of takes away from the whole experience, but it is not anything that time consuming, just a few e-mails that you would spend time at these boards instead. Not hard.

Originally I did just that, and the iTMS person referred me to Apple's tech support. Perhaps I will try to contact them again and see if I get somebody more helpful.
