OK. So Apple now says the m-audio keyboard they advertised as being a compliment to GarageBand has now been delayed until MARCH!!!! So I cancelled my online order and bought iLife at my local store.

I'm not going to wait two months for the m-audio, so what I need now is a suggestion of where I can get one of those right now, or a comparable GarageBand compatable keyboard. ASAP.

here is the list of compatible accessories to GarageBand.
http://www.apple.com/ilife/garageban...atibility.html

So it would be a big help if someone could tell me where online I can get one of these keyboards soon, for $99 or less.

I received my M-Audio Keyboard from Apple on Monday. I'd recommend trying to find this same one elsewhere and at the same time not cancelling your Apple order until you do find one. You just might be surprised when it shows up earlier than expected as mine did.

PS It's a fun keyboard, and works very well with GarageBand.

No. Apple sent me an email saying it would be delayed until March 5th. I allready cancelled my order.

So I'd like to get that m-audio, but everypace I check says they are out of stock becuase the large number of GarageBand users buying them up. If anyone knows where I can get one soon that would be great. Also I'm open to other keyboards, it doesn't have to be the m-audio one.

Thanks

I have an Evolution MK-249

It's a keyboard that can be hooked either with MIDI or USB. I'm using it on an OS 9 machine via USB since midi is unstable with my Edirol box.

Does anyone use the MK249 and USB with Garageband?

BTW It looks just like that M-audio one. It's simple, has 4 octaves, full sized keys, etc...

Yep, M-Audio's stuff is sweet. I actually think that you should consider yourself lucky that you weren't able to get that keyboard though. It's very basic and it doesn't have any knobs or sliders (with knobs and sliders, you can assign them to different software based features in programs like Reason). Plus, if you look at M-Audio's website, the keyboard that Apple shows is actually listed as a "consumer" model, whereas their sweet keyboards with all the knobs and sliders are under the "pro" models section.

I'd recommend that you take a look at the other keyboards that M-Audio has to offer (including their Evolution UK line and their Ozone and Oxygen 8 models if you have a desire to be portable or compact). Also, the Edirol keyboard that Apple lists is a bit more advanced also if you don't mind the price tag.

jam pack is pretty sweet. the instruments and samples are (for the most part) top notch stuff. a few arnt that great. about half of the guitar effects are good..the others are fairly decent.
the variety isnt what id like it to be though. i definitely would have liked more orchestral strings and woodwinds and horn samples.
all in all its great. with the samples that came with Acid, GB, and JP i am a happy camper
im going to start posting my music on my site soon. probably going to devote my new spymac webspace for that.
