Have MS worked out yet how to support file names over 31 characters long??

I hope so. As none of the other features have wowed me enough to convince me to buy, fixing that bug alone may be the thing to send me over the edge.

But I wonder if they'll also be including product activation in this version?

I doubt MS has done anything about the 31 character limit. Hell, MS fixing a "bug" (feature?). Not likely. They've spent all this time adding new features, but I doubt they've fixed any bugs. Their track record for Office X isn't that great to begin with.
