My sister has discovered that iPhoto will not obey start end and times set for tracks in iTunes. She wants to make a short slideshow with multiple songs, which would involve cutting short the songs that she would want to use.

This really bothers me because this is very poor integration between iTunes and iPhoto. iPhoto should obey all settings for tracks in the library. I am sending Apple feedback for this and I encourage others to do the same.

In the meantime I need a workaround. I'm thinking of using quicktime pro (which I have, but she doesn't) to make the songs shorter, as reference files, which link back to the original songs, then playing those in iPhoto. I can't do crossfades between songs in quicktime (I don't think). I might try doing crossfades in garageband.

Any other ideas?
