I wanted to move all my mp3s from my iBook to my new PowerBook. If I put them all on my iPod, then put them on my PowerBook, will this result in much loss of quality? I know encoding can result in quality loss, just not sure about direct copying.

Thanks!

they will be the same as they were when u started...

you're copying files as data, there is no conversion (like, say recording thru audio in ports or something)

have fun!

There will never be a loss of quality when moving digital files from one digital format to another, unless you re-encode them, or change the format. Just copying them to another HD or backing up on disc will be just fine.

I allways back up my music collection on DVD, just in case something happens to my iPod, and I have to reformat it. (which has happend once or twice).
