due to 10.3 and expose, i hardly use the dock all that much, it stays hidden and i use it a little. like when i open a program who's windows i keep closed. mail for instance.
i keep all of mail's windows closed, since it still checks for mail, and then i open it to read, or click+hold the icon to get the menu to compose a new message.
i often miss getting mail since the dock is hidden and thus i hardly ever see the mail icon.
is it possible to make an applescript or something, that will make the mail icon bounce until it is finally clicked on?
or *something* that will bring my attention to the fact that i have new mail.
thanks.

Well, I use mail in a similar fashion to that which you have described here. I find that just having an alert sound when new mail arrives is adequate notification for me.

Just make a simple filter.
If (any) of the following conditions are met:
[Every Message]
Perform the following actions:
[Bounce Icon in Dock]

I had the same problem, I use Konfabulator.
I displays a nice red badge (the same that mail has on it's icon) on top of my screen with the number of emails I have.
That's cool
