I have been having problems with Mail since I got this PowerBook. It arrived 3 weeks ago (during MacWorld) and I installed everything off of my old TiBook onto the new one. Then I went to set up the mail, I went through all the dialog boxes and set it up just like my previous Powerbook, but it hangs when it get to "Comparing notes with Server." Then to make matters worse it won't quit. I even tried another account and logged in as that and it doesn't work there either. I asked at the AppleCare booth at MacWorld and they suggested trying to log in as a different user (which I already had tried), then another guy walked over (who also worked at Apple) and said that it was a "known issue"
So I guess I don't get to use mail? At least not on this machine (I have Entourage, but prefer Mail). I have tried throwing out the preferences, and fixing permissions all to no avail. What's up? Anyone got any ideas?
