Did anyone buy CodeTek's VirtualDesktop (CTVD) back when they offered lifetime upgrades on that product? I purchased CTVD back in October of 2002. I don't remember exactly how it was worded, but I understood them to offer lifetime upgrades to CTVD if you bought it back when they were starting the product.
I sent a email to them asking them to clarify their upgrade policy, since they have just released version 3.
Here is the response I got from them.
"Yes, our updates (bug fixes and minor enhancements) and customer support
is free for the life of the program. Our Upgrades (major enhancements and
product improvements) were free for 2002 and 2003. We have published our
intent to charge for Upgrades both in our Information Center and in our
Legal Notices on our Web Site for quite some time.
CTVD Pro and Lite 3.0 is an Upgrade, not an update.
Thank you.

I am just wondering if anyone else who bought CTVD thought they would get lifetime updates to that product.
If any of you think it is crazy to think you would get lifetime upgrades of a software product, I would like to point out. I bought MusicMatch Pro back in 1998 or 99 and I still get full access to their Pro product. I have even lost my Reg number and contacted them and had them provide it to me.
When I bought CTVD I perceived the lifetime updates as a way for CodeTek to get some traction for a new product, much like MusicMatch did years back. I may have understood them incorrectly, and I am trying to find out if I am the only one.
Thank you
