Tonight I used Backup from .mac for the first time to my iDisk.
I noticed that my AddressBook file size was 18+ MB! I have 1500+ contacts but holy cow.
Did a search in the finder and good lord...
4+ .data files (May, June, Oct, Dec of 2003)
4+ .data.backup files
4+ .data.preDLBackup files
Also found a couple of .abbu files which I know are backups of the AddressBook from the File menu of Addressbook. This shows a file size of 8MB.
Now I have one more of each since I did a backup tonight.
Can I toss these earlier backups away? Will it affect isync?
I use isync. These files are split being located in User>Library>Application Support>Sync Service and User>Library>Application Support>AddressBook.preDLbackup.
How should I proceed?
Edit: I am thinking that the preDL files are used by an application I use called Daylite (DL). It synchronizes itself with the Addressbook.
If you go to
here and download the AddressBook screenshot you can see the carnage.
