OK, a co-worker of mine has a Win PC and a Ti PowerBook running Jaguar. On both he has PowerPoint. Now, on Win he can put an "object" in his PP presentation, whicgh basically links a plot from within a Kaleidograph file to the presentation. When the original document gets updated, the presentation does as well.
Now, on the Mac this isn't working. Actually it's not working for any data type we've tried.
In the menu Insert > Object on Win he gets a list of many kinds of data files, he seleects kaleidograph and choses the document. On the Mac he only gets to chose from MS programs in this list. There is no other type listed. If he selects "From File" and then selects the file, PowerPoint says there is some error. It does this with any format inlcluding things like jpegs that it otherwise perfectly displays (if you insert as an image).
So, does PP not at all allow this inserting of foreign content on the Mac? What's the deal? I mean, this publishing and subscribing was introduced by Apple with System 7 or so, so it has been on the Mac for much longer...
