plea}se don't lynch me but i really miss the (Start Menu) from windoze is there a program that can emulate it for Panther?
I know the Dock is for those frequently used progs but I like the ease of the windoze way of listing the programs in the start menu.

You can always drag the Applications folder to the dock then right click on it and it will list all the apps in the app folder.

Or tailor-make a folder containing ALIASes (aka "links"? in Windows?) and then drag THAT folder to dock (in case you don't want all 400 apps that you might have in your Applications folder)

you could also have a look at Fruit Menu - it lets you configure the Apple menu just about any way you like....it would not be very difficult to set it so it's kinda like the "start" menu (except it'll always be at the top-left of your screen.....
