Is ACC encoding have better encoding than MP3

i rip my mp3's at 192 and thats beginning to add up in file size and i was wondering if i should switch my encoding over to AAC and will it cut down on file size and keep the 192 quality. right now i have about 20gigs of music and i want to transfer them to my powerbook but that will take up a lot of space

AAC is better quality than mp3 so you can rip at lower bitrate than 192, so the files can be smaller. How low the bitrate can be you have to try out for yourself.
You should never convert mp3 to AAC. That will sound bad. You would need to re-rip old files from the original.

In your search, but sure to use 'AAC' instead of 'ACC', otherwise you'll end up with a lot of posts about basketball.

they are my fav team. always have a great football and baseball team. basketball is actually decent this year. we beat NC and WFU...too powerhouses and both ranked in the top 10. we had a reputable showing against Duke.
remember...the ACC is about to be the home of the VT "Big Mac" G5 cluster
