This is the second time its happened, once from a Third party site and this time downloading Backup from Apple's servers. When downloading a dmg the file comes down with a dms extention instead. I can simply rename the file to dmg to get it to work, but I'm wondering why this is happening in the first place. Is it happening to anyone else?

And this is only started happening with Safari 1.2.

Actually, I may. I downloaded it as a test, but I though I uninstalled it?

Reran the uninstaller, and dmgs are downloading properly again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
