Hi,

I very rarely launch Address Book but a couple of minutes ago I did, to change an address.

On launching Address Book, 'Little Snitch' warned me that Address Book was trying to contact an Apple server.

WTF? Why would that be?

The weird thing is that I can't reproduce it. It just happened once.

Anyone else noticed this?

Yah, I had the same thing happen... I thought it might be checking for an update, but who knows... They could be tracking how many times people are using it...

Maybe it's trying to sync with an Exchange server or contact an LDAP server? I've been running address book with Little Snitch for over a year now and it's never tried to phone home.

Do you have it set to alert people to changes in your personal card?

mitchell_pgh,

At least someone else has seen it...

I don't use .Mac, I don't have it set to notify people of changes and there's no LDAP or Exchange server involved.

It's weird. It's also weird that I can't reproduce it.

We'll see what happens if I clear all the caches...

Moonray,

If I remember correctly it was just a lengthy .apple.com type of address.

I still can't reproduce it... Sorry I didn't note more details...
