I'd like to be able to be able to start video conferencing. I've got a lightning fast cable modem internet connection. Finally, for the first time, my mother who is located in rural iowa, has access to a high speed dsl connection. The company's connection plans are 128k for $39.99/mth, 256k for $49.99/mth, and so on. Is a 128k internet connection speed enough for fluid iChat AV videoconferencing? Or do you think it is worth the extra $10/mth for another 128k speed boost?

Her computer is a 700 mh flat panel G4 iMac, and mine is a Quicksilver tower, so I don't think processing speed is an issue.

Thanks,

lw

100 kbps is really the minimum acceptable. Keep in mind that the UPLOAD is as important as the download. You should have at least 128k in upload to get a decent picture. I say decent. Won't be great though.
