iChat AV Connection Difficluties (isolated)

I keep getting the message "... did not respond" when attempting to respond to or initiate an audio or video iChat with ONE user. I am able to connect with other users for audio or video chats, though I had the same problem with one other person, though it mystereriously disappeared after my upgrading to Panther.
The current user that I cannot communicate with CAN have AV communications with other Panther users though she is using Jaguar and the stand alone version of iChat AV.

She has dsl connect, all other parties are cable. I am only one with LAN (Netgear FVS 318) with all apple specified required ports open.

any thougts or suggestions would be greatley appreciated. I have searched for others with similar problems in vain.
