Hey .. I'm looking at having my own website and domain name finally, and since I subscribe to .Mac I was hoping I could save on webhosting costs and simply get a domain name which is redirected to .Mac

Anybody doing this? Is it possible? Any problems except for your address changing after the redirect?

Cheers

Sure you can do that. Of course you'll need someone to host your DNS entry or it won't work.
But if you really want to save on webhosting costs, drop your .Mac account and sign up with a real webhoster.

Ditto. I use totalchoicehosting.com, they're fabulous, and you get 100 times more than .Mac for much less.

you can do exactly what you're asking. I use 123cheapdomains.com for it. I think the domain name costs about $13/year & all it does is redirect to your .mac site. I don't think you get any email addresses with it though, so you might want to check with other companies.
