I have been searching for a while on a way to view Snapshot files (.snp extension) under Mac OS X Panther. I have all of the normal software you would expect and nothing opens it - i have tried everything from Word to iPhoto to Graphic Converter to Acrobat. I know that a Snapshot file is some kind of MS Access PDF-like file but even looking at FileMaker's homepage they do not seem to mention support for it.

anyone have any ideas?????

snapsot is the ms access equiv to the "powerpoint viewer" software - it lets you read an access file without having access or access runtime software installed. so, maybe virtual pc + microsoft snapshot viewer.....or.....get the person that is doing the "snapshot" to do it to an html file instead :

the files come only as a Snapshot. VPC is an option i would prefer to avoid. I am looking for a native OSX app or hell, even something i can run in unix or X11.

A quick search turns up nothing. Everything I've seen seems to recommend exporting the file into another format if you want to use it on another platform...

Well, since I don't know much about .snp, I can give this a shot. If you are looking for something that simply lets you look at it, then I have a suggestion, other than that, i have no idea. QuickImageCM from this guy might be something to try.

Lemme know.

thanx for the try Stup - but no luck - it doesn't work. Tho that is a good little plugin.

this is crazy that there is no way to view this on a Mac short of VPC. I am trying to migrate my Dad from PC to Mac and being able to view these stupid SNP files is the only stumbling block.
