iMac 17" 800mhz running 10.2.8

I have used Safari 1.0 since it came out and used the older versions as they became available. Am happy with the browser but since Safari 1.2 is only for OS 10.3, I am wondering if there is something else (Omni Web or Camino) that would serve me better? I have not kept up on the other browsers cause I have been happy with 1.0 but am now wondering since 1.0 seems to be as far as I can go with Safari.

Thoughts appreciated

mozilla 1.6b is an excellent browser. Fast and full-featured.

Firebird is one free option.

But what is wrong with Safari? Did it break? Is it suddenly no good? Will it go bad after awhile?

I have Panther and the new Safari. Other than the new tabbing to links feature (which I have no use for) I really don't see or feel much difference. Maybe a little faster but hard to tell.

Nothing really, but like I said, I have not paid much attention to the browser wars cause I was happy with Safari 1.0. Was just wondering if something better was available.

Thanks for the reply......Rich

firebird 0.8 is out now, or should i say "firefox" as they've changed the name again. only run the Windoze version so far but if its as good as this on OSX then it'll be a winner.

there is nothing wrong with Safari but it looks unlikely that Apple will develop it anymore now for 10.2.x and its not nice to have a "dead" browser especially as Safari does have some bugs...

Just upgraded to "firefox" and it's great!
It's free, of course, so just try it out.

Mozilla Firefox is cool. Once OmniWeb 5 final comes out, it will be great also. Note: if you can afford it, upgrade to Panther.
