I just got an epson R300, and I was wondering what is a good program to print photos that I have taken with my dig camera. I can't get it to print right in photoshop, or preview, and the film factory program I got keeps unexpectadely quitting... I want to print 4x6 borderless and any other size, any suggestions???

THANKS!

(adding my 2 cents to get the reply)
I've got an Epson 785EPX, and the only way I can get borderless pics is to print a digital jpeg via the memory card slot on the printer

This took me a while to figure out as-well. I have a Canon but it might be similar.

Basically under Page Set-up there are options with the page dimensions and then a "borderless" tag beside them.

Inside of iPhoto I just make sure to go into Page Setup before printing and select "4x6 (borderless)" and then just print like regular.

Once again this is the way it works on my Canon i450, not sure about Epson's.

I tried the iphoto way and it doesn't fill the 4 x 6 sheet comepletely. There is white space on the right and left sides when I look at it in the preview...

Have your tried constraining the picture (there's a box on the lower left hand side) in iPhoto to 4 x 6, then printing it? I had to do this with my HP mulifunction printer in order to enable borderless printing.

I agree with this. I use a Canon i860 with iPhoto. You do need to crop the pictures using the 4x6 constraint for borderless unless your camera format can be ajusted to 4x6. Normal digital pictures are not 4x6 ratio and therefore will have "white bars" on the sides analogous to letterbox movies on a square tv.

Yeah, you have to crop the picture properly. I print from iPhoto on a regular basis and it works every time.

I did the 4 x6 constraining that you all said, but it still isn't perfect. It is leaving some white speace on one edge in my print preview....

Any body know why???

Thank you for all your help so far!

I believe borderless printing is NOT available under X for Epson printers.

I know I can do the borderless printing with my epson becaus eI have done it before, and it works when I do it directly from the memory card, but I haven't been able to figure it out with iphoto. It is now printing the wrong way on the 4 x 6 even though the preview shows it the correct way on the paper. The preview only shows a white strip on one side no on both.....

Thank for the help!

I don't believe the previous posters statement was that Epson couldn't do borderless but rather that it could't do borderless through OS X. That would explain why you can directly from the memory card but not iPhoto.

I don't have an epson so I can't verify but purhaps the epson web site has a FAQ on it.

Definitely a no-doer in OSX with the Epson 925 Stylus. May possibly be due to a driver problem. I'm having that borderless problem in OSX with my 925.

Could be a job for a Gimp print solution. I've heard them, and I'm presently pursuing that as an possible solution.

Anyone else out there comment to that?

I was able to do this using a R200, but it crops out a little of the edges of the photo, though, it DOES print borderless ........

Borderless printing is definitely possible with Epson printers and OS X. Do them quite frequently with Photoshop. Haven't been using iPhoto so I can't comment on it. Will give it a shot with my next batch of photos and post some results. Hope this kinda helps :-)
