my bubble scroll bar (you know, the one on the right) gets messed up for some reason since a couple of days ago. It just gets cut in several pieces and some of them don't move while the rest do. The bug only clears when I minimize Safari or quit it and relaunch.

Anyone else?

I never had this before.

try repairing permissions. If that doesn't help, delete safari's cache and prefs.

those items are always a good start if you're having weirdness with an app.

Is there a specific site that makes it do this?

Enough! Repairing permissions repairs app permissions...nothing more. It doesn't magically fix bugs with apps.

relax and breathe. Those are suggestions. We all know that they don't "magically" repair problems, but years of Mac troubleshooting experience dictate that it is a solid first step. If it doesn't work, you move on to other things. It's like the user saying, "My computer won't turn on," then the tech asks, "Make sure your computer is plugged in." Start with the very basics and move out from there.

Well, I'd disagree there, fulmer. I too have experienced this bug, for the record. Redraw issues have absolutely nothing to do with permissions, and never could. People, therefore, shouldn't treat it as a trouble shooting cure-all. The bug I'm more concerned about is one that causes the tab pane not to be drawn when a tab is created. This is problematic because it is a new, sporadic bug; I haven't seen anyone mention it before.

It isn't a cure-all. I've made that clear. It is only a common first step. Following a standardized, orderly approach may not yield the source of a problem, but it will often show you what the source is not. I'm sure we can all agree on that.

plus its not like repairing permissions acutally does any harm, in fact it could clear up other problems which a user may be having.
