I am trying out Speed Download and I don't know if I am gonna keep it. I don't see that much difference in speeds so far.

What I do get annoyed about is that my mp3s automatically download as quicktime files. Why is that? I don't see a pref to automatically associate them with ITunes. In my ITunes library they show up in those blue QT icons.

select an mp3 file. Get Info on it. Under the header 'Open With', choose iTunes, and then click 'Change All...'. This should set a system-wide preference to open all mp3 files with itunes and it should change their icons, too.

I am assuming you are using OS X.

In the Finder you can tell it to only associate MP3's with iTunes. I think the application downloading it has the final say though.

To try getting all MP3's opening in iTunes click on an MP3 that is associated with QuickTime and then from the menu-bar choose File - Get Info. A new window will appear and inside that choose "Open With" and then select iTunes as the app and finally click the "Change-All" button.

Hope this helps

Looks like fulmer beat me.
