I've installed Weblock a few days ago,
get it here>>> http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/mo...&mode=info
and configured it with ease to work with Apache. My problem is that when I log on to my webserver, I put in the username and password and ask it to remember it and voila, I get access.
When anyone else tries to gain access to the webpage, they don't even get a popup that asks for the username password. Therefore they do not get access. Is it a browser specific problem? Has anyone ever used Weblock?
thanks.

This does not sound like a problem with Weblock as such, but a problem with web access into your machine generally. Before you had Weblock installed, could anyone get into your machine except you?
It might be that you can access your machine locally, but access outside your immediate subnet (for example) is not possible. I think you need to establish if it is, in fact, anything to do with Weblock.
I use Weblock to some extent and it works OK for me.

If I do not restrict with a password in weblock, people can enter my page. If I restrict with a password/username they can't. Your right locally I have no problems. Is that what you meant?
I guess what I mean is that I want to secure my /Library/WebServer/Documents folder to let only those with the correct password to enter. That would mean anyone connecting to me from anywhere. Not just locally. I hope I'm making sense.

OK, so the same people accessing from the same computers:
(a) can get into /Library/WebServer/Documents when Weblock is not 'activated'.
but
(b) cannot get into /Library/WebServer/Documents when Weblock is 'activated'.
Two questions:
1. Are you allowing access to specific domains, or just username/password?
2. Exactly what do these other people get when they try and enter your site?
One general tip I have is that using Terminal to edit the access files manually. It is very simple. See the Apache file here.
Personally, I use Weblock to help create all the files in all the right places, and then I go into the files 'manually' in Terminal to edit them. This suits my basic understanding of Unix and is very efficient for me.
The other issue which I come across is that 'old' pages can get caught up in the cache, and you need to restart Apache (or restart your Mac) to instigte your new settings.
