Sorry if this has been brought up before but I couldn't find it while searching.
I have Garageband and Soundtrack included with FCP4. I have not installed the Soundtrack loops yet. I want to use Soundtrack just to mix my home video clips with some loops and maybe do music with Reason in the latter and I want to use Garageband to do music only with my keyboard.
I don't want to use so much HD space with loops from both programs. Is it possible to set up Soundtrack to use the included Garageband loops and if so then how so and how would I be able to index them?
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Why not use the 4 gigs of loops that come with soundtrack? Anyway, they should all be compatible together. They are all "apple loops"

Sorry, I neglected to mention that I have the Jam Pack installed so I already have tons of loops. Does anyone know how to use the Jam Pack loops with soundtrack?

You can point Soundtrack to the clips you want to use. If you still want to use the Jam Pack in GarageBand, you need to keep the files where they are. Move your Soundtrack files to that directory and point Soundtrack to them. Then you can use all of them in both apps.

best way to do it is this...
1. install garageband, jam pack, and soundtrack w/ loops
2. run the sountrack erase duplicate script. you can get the script in this thread http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.p...ight=duplicate
3. import the soundtrack loops into GB by draggin the ST loops folder into GB's browser.
4. delete the original sountrack loops folder
5. launch sountrack and point it to the GB loops folder and then index them.

you should now have both groups and no duplicates.
