Strange problem: Real One Player, OS X version 9.0, won't play an entire stream for me if the stream is more than something like 18 minutes. It doesn't crash, just stops. The problem doesn't happen if I launch the Classic version, though. I'm on a solid cable internet connection so I don't think that's the root of the issue. I'm using OS X 10.3.2 but I also had the problem on 10.2.8.

Anyone else have this problem or know of what to do to solve it? Thanks.

I am also having problems with RealOne Player, although they're different:

Suddenly, over the past couple of days, I am not able to play any streaming media through RealOne Player. It simply loads the URL title in the title bar and displays the "Stopped" message right below.

I having been having problems with the Real streams from c-span.org, so if anyone could try that out and see if it's a general problem on their end that would be great.

Thanks.

Some recent reports at http://discussions.info.apple.com/ indicate that people who have updated to Airport 3.3 have had some trouble using RealOne Player, presumably due to a bug in the new Airport software. The workaround appears to be to use RealOne Player's preferences to turn off all transport options except for HTTP.

That's it--it works.

Thanks!

I turned off all transports except to HTTP but I'm still getting the same result -- streams quit after about 18 minutes.

Clarification: RealOne Player is not actually indicating that the stream has stopped. The timer continues to run but I lose all audio around 18 minutes.

are you listening to WABC by any chance? In the 7 pm slot the operators turn off Laura Ingraham's show almost weekly.

No, that's not it. None of these long streams have been live and they haven't exhibited the problem in the OS 9 version of RealOne Player.

This is sort of unrelated about RealOne Player. I havn't installed it on my mac because It's a horrible piece of spyware and garbage on PC and there is an alternative. Is it that bad on Mac, and are there any alternatives?
