Well, I made the mistake (didn't know it at the time) of ordering a keyboard before looking in to GarageBand's compatibility list first. The keyboard hasn't arrived yet and is on back order until the 27th. It is the eKeys from Evolution (not the eKeys49).

Anyone know what Apple means by this? How does a keyboard be not compatible with GarageBand or does anyone have the eKeys keyboard and know if it is or not?

Thank you.

All midi is doing is telling your computer an on/off message. If you really wanted to, you could midi to control your garage door. Midi doesn't have anything to do with actual sound, that's why you can change instruments and whatnot after the fact. Therfore, I would assume as long as its a USB midi keyboard, it should work just fine.

That is what I thought and then I double check and it doesn't require drivers for Mac OS X just 9.1 or 9.2 and if it uses the midi core (or whatever apple calls it) it would be seen as the same as the most expensive driverless usb midi keyboard.

Just double checking.. It isn't the first time Apple has made a compatibility list and it excluded items I have yet work.
