today, I bought Disk Warrior, as my iBook had been starting to stall on startup, and I tried everything, even single-user mode to no avail, it says it will repair directorys and such, will it erase my data?

DiskWarrior has a very good reputation among repair utilities on the Mac.
It will not intentionally erase anything on your drive. If a particular file is so badly damaged that DW can't save it, then that file will still be toast (which could be a Bad Thing, if that file is critical to booting the system). But it won't try and erase stuff.
