I had this problem once, after I had cloned my drive to another disk. It turned out that there was a cookie set somewhere (not in an obvious place) that I had to delete, then set up my account again in Entourage. After that, it worked. Sorry I can't be more specific, but try checking all the cookie files you can find. Also try repairing your keychain.

Edit: I asumed that you already downloaded the Entourage update for Hotmail, but if not, there's your problem.

well do you really need to use Entourage?

You can use Apple's Mail.app with Hotmail and MSN as well.

Maybe that is the problem, mine is 10.0.0, I refused to update the Office v.X since it does not solve an issue with the spanish edition. But when you create a new account, you can choose a hotmail account

Sounds like you'll have to make a choice then: keep things as is and not have it work, or update and get the hotmail portion working even tho's it doesn't solve the other issue.

Yes, you need 10.1.4 for Hotmail to work properly.

why not upgrade? the way you worded it, it sounds like there is an issue with the spanish vesion and the updates don't fix it but the issue is still there.

Also in the updates, the interface is cleaned up a lot. When I installed 10.3 I formatted and reinstalled all my apps and noticed that 10.0 has those thick pinstripes and after I ran the updates I got better icons in the apps, improved speed and a more uniform and polished interface as well as a printer problem fixed.

what is there to lose except you fix a problem instead of having two problems?

I think that 10.0 had hotmail support but since the release, they have updated the way hotmail handles connections like through outlook express, entourage and third-party programs. I'm still waiting for true outlook support and not this IMAP crap.

He's talking Office v.X versions, you're talking OS (maybe ). The latest version of Entourage is 10.1.4, not 10.3.

I am talking both. It is my understanding that the version of Office he is running is 10.0 (v.X) and the version he needs is 10.1.4 or 10.1.5.

I was just saying that when I installed Mac OS X 10.3 I formated my computer and reinstalled all my apps and installed office version 10.0 which "has those thick pinstripes and after I ran the updates [to office version 10.1.5] I got better icons in the apps, improved speed and a more uniform and polished interface as well as a printer problem fixed."

If you have office 10.0 installed on a panther machine, you will see what I mean. Then when you run the updates, office will look how you think office should look on panther.

FWIW, Office 10.1.2 is sufficient to use Hotmail from Entourage. When the Hotmail access protocols were changed in late 2001, MS originally released (well after the Windows update!) a stand-alone Hotmail fix (for Entourage X, Entourage 2001 and Outlook Express.) That Entourage X fix was later incorporated with other changes into Office X Service Release 1, and then rolled into the 10.1.2 "combined updater". 10.1.4 adds operation with MS Exchange servers.

Oh, that sounds cool, better splash screens too?

Yes, Mac OS X 10.3.2 and Office v.X 10.0.0 just out of the box. So I need to update Office, thanks for the info.

Thanks again for your time and invaluable info.
