Hi all,

Does anyone here know of a good software (OS X 10.3) for partitioning the hard drive; something along the lines of Partition Magic that is on the dark side?

The thing is, When I installed 10.3 I made only one partition and now I need to install OS 9 (for using QTVR -- When is Apple going to come out with an OS X version *sigh*) and I found out that I can't since I didn't install the OS 9 drivers when I installed 10.3; and now I can't repartition the drive.

Thanks.

this has been asked/answered soooooo many times....the only thing other than apple's disk utility is FWB Partition Toolkit and it only runs under os 9 and is still somewhat limited at that.

if you want more details, search this forum and the os x forum on "partition" and you'll see countless threads.

There is no reason to install OS 9 on a different partition. 9 and X can coexist peacefully; in fact this is the default setup.

Well, actually, there is a reason if you want to boot back and forth between them a lot - if they're on separate partitions, you can select which you want to boot into using the option-key-at-startup boot loader.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

If you read closely you'll read he did not install the OS 9 drivers. He wouldn't be able then to boot into Mac OS 9.
Classic should work fine though.

I apologize for post this topic -- I downloaded the VRWorx demo and will pay with it (Thanks Truepop); if it isn't as good as QTVR Studio from Apple; I guess I will have to bite the bullet and backup my hard drive and partition the drive (this time putting some thinking into it) and install OS 9 and OS X.

Thanks for all the help folks.
