Hi there,
Would anyone know where I can find the QuickTime reistration number that I need to upgrade to 6.5? I have never seen a registration number - I haven't needed one until now! I've been trying to download the update as 'suggested' by Software Update - and I am being asked for information I do not have ....!
Thanks in advance!

You don't need a registration number to update QuickTime, you can install without entering that information.
In case you really need it, you can buy one here:
http://store.apple.com/

Yeah, just leave the boxes blank. Apple makes upgrading the free client kind of obtuse. But if you leave them blank, it will install just fine.

Hi -Q-
Thanks for the advice, which I welcomed with 'open arms' - needless to say - it worked! You are right, Apple do make this sort of upgrading rather obtuse - mind you, its only three months ago since I fully escaped the clutches of Microsoft and PC's and I still have a feeling of 'obedience' when I see those sort of boxes!!
This feeling WILL pass, I am sure!
Also my thanks to 'eevyl'.
