moving garage band loops

I've been trying to move the garage band loops to another hard disk because they are so damned huge.

I moved over the folder of loops in the Library/Application Support folder to another hard disk. Then I created an alias of the the GarageBand folder and put it back into Library/Application Support.

No dice. For some reason the alias of the folder doesn't behave like a normal alias.

Is there any way around this?

Any ideas anyone?

Dhos_Garage can help. I used it to install GB and all it's files on my external Firewire HD.

Unix links are the better aliases. Try in the terminal:

ln -s "/Library/Application Support/GarageBand" "/path/to/your/new/folder"

Yeah, symbolic links are the key...this is the same as what's presented in the link I provided above...

Yep, sometimes it's just shorter to write the line than to dig out a link
