I have a rather silly friend who insists on using wordpad for everything. Could someone direct me to a text editor that reads wpd files?

do you mean wordpad or wordperfect? i think wpd is the extension used by worperfect....

Well, I believe it is hmmm....this is true. Well, it is a wpd. I assumed this was wordpad, but perhaps it's wordperfect. The question stands. What can open wordperfect documents?

...and if you don't have wordperfect, perhaps see if you can get this person who insists on using it to at least save it for you in some format more compatible, like .rtf....the other choice is for you to cough up for a copy of MacLink Deluxe - which is a bit overkill if you only use it for the occasional document.

another idea - if you have X11 installed, you can try AbiWord - i think it reads wordperfect files, and it's free.

hey, that's right....i forgot about that! i wonder how well it supports documents created with newer versions of the windoze version?
