I've always had problems with DVD Player...probably around 90% of my DVD hang at various places. I can hardly ever watch a movie without force-quitting DVD Player and going through the chapter selection and choosing a point beyond the point where the movie froze.
My question is: does this happen to you?
I was never sure if it was DVD Player's fault, my DVDs, or my Combo drive's fault. But my DVDs aren't scratched and VLC never had these problems. So it might be a combination of DVD Player and the Combo drive's fault.
The Finder also has a difficult time with certain DVDs...it sometimes takes up to 45 seconds for the Finder to mount the damn DVD.
So what's going on? I'm surprised nobody complains about this...am I the only one with this problem?
Here's to hoping the 10.3.3 DVD Player changes will put an end to my problem.

I have the same problem. I have hardly a DVD where DVD Player does not stutter. It worked perfectly in 10.1, but on the other hand it was much worse on 10.2, so I guess I'm content.

Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Yeah...come to think of it, I don't remember ever having problems in 10.1 either.
Hopefully more people can confirm this so I know Apple will be working on fixing DVD Player.

Doubt it...everything else is fine. The movies play perfectly in VLC like I said earlier. Besides, lens don't just get dirty. It's actually improbable that the lens ever gets dirty unless you actually stick your finger on it...very hard to do with a Combo drive. This only happens to DVDs, CDs have no problems playing.
